Frances Tiafoe stuns Daniil Medvedev in straight sets to reach US Open quarterfinals

Frances Tiafoe toppled Daniil Medvedev in straight sets, 7-6 (7), 6-4, 7-6 (8), to advance to face fellow American Alex Michelsen in the quarterfinals.
Tiafoe now owns a perfect 10-0 record inside Louis Armstrong Stadium, which he described as the “people’s court” following his win.
The hard-fought match saw Tiafoe become the first player during this U.S. Open to take a set from Medvedev, who had cruised to wins in straight sets through the first three rounds in Flushing Meadows.
