NYPD recruit tragically dies after suddenly collapsing at police academy

An NYPD recruit tragically died Monday after they suddenly collapsed while working out at the Police Academy, sources told The Post.
The recruit, who has not been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. after being rushed to Booth Memorial Hospital after they passed out at the NYPD’s academy in Queens, sources said.
The recruit was breathing and awake for a period of time after CPR was administered, the source said.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch visited the hospital at some point after the recruit’s conditioned worsened.
The recruit had just joined the police department in April, records show.
