Giants release veteran Darius Slayton days before season opener
September 8, 2026
Darius Slayton initially made the 53-man roster after surviving the final round of cuts, but he didn’t make it to Week 1.
Slayton, the longest-tenured Giant who was set to have a salary-cap hit of $15.9 million in 2026, was released Monday, the team announced.
He finished with 538 receiving yards and a touchdown in 14 games last year.
The Post’s Paul Schwartz reported last month after the final preseason game that Slayton’s spot was in jeopardy.
