MIAMI — Reed Garrett woke up last Saturday with jitters. 

The Mets were preparing to face the Giants in Queens that afternoon, and Garrett was nearly 1,200 miles removed from the scene, about to face hitters in an empty ballpark at the team’s complex in Port St. Lucie, Fla. 

“I had nerves and excitement to go to the field,” the reliever told The Post before the Mets faced the Marlins on Tuesday. 

The session at Clover Park served as Garrett’s first time pitching to batters since undergoing internal brace elbow reconstruction surgery last October after a ligament tear was diagnosed. Garrett also had a bone spur removed.
