One NFL rookie’s season is off to an inauspicious start, but it has nothing to do with his on-field play.

Steelers first-round pick Max Iheanachor was the victim of a home burglary, with over $150,000 worth of items taken from his Pittsburgh home, according to multiple reports.

The offensive tackle’s home in the Mount Washington neighborhood was damaged on Aug. 26, with a rock going through one of the windows, WTAE reported. The burglary, according to multiple reports, happened between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The Athletic reported that between $150,000 and $250,000 worth of jewelry and designer handbags were taken from the home.

No arrests have yet been made in the case.

A number of pro athletes — and particularly NFL players — have seen their homes targeted in burglaries over the last two years.

Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Bobby Portis of the NBA’s Heat were all among the athletes who had their houses targeted in an alleged ring targeting the homes of high-profile sports stars.

Two Chilean nationals allegedly involved in the burglary spree fled to Argentina, where they were arrested this spring. Federal prosecutors in Florida asked for them to be extradited from Argentina to the United States in August.

Iheanachor, who dealt with an injury in training camp, joins the Steelers after a college career that saw him play at Eastern Los Angeles College and Arizona State. After garnering an All-Big 12 Second Team nod in 2025, Iheanachor was taken 21st overall by the Steelers in this year’s draft.

As of Tuesday, he is listed as the team’s No. 2 right tackle.

The Steelers host the Falcons on Sunday in Week 1.
