Jets can’t let these good summer vibes go to waste again

Optimism around the Jets usually disappears as fast as the warm weather when football season starts. It can sometimes linger for a few weeks, but it’s usually gone at some point in October.

Can the Jets somehow manage to make that summer optimism last a little longer this year?

There is a path, but it requires something the Jets have been unable to do for the past decade: get off to a hot start. The Jets have not opened a season at 2-0 since 2015. You remember that season? Ryan Fitzpatrick had a career year. Todd Bowles was in his first year as head coach.

The Jets got off to a strong start with a win against a bad Browns team, followed by a statement win over the Colts, a team that had played in the AFC Championship Game the year before.
