Boy thanks 9/11 victim grandfather he never met by telling him about NBA championship: ‘Knicks in five’
A young boy whose grandfather died in the World Trade Center gave a rare moment of levity as 9/11 victims’ names were read by evoking the New York Knicks’ long-awaited championship.
The youngster paid tribute to his namesake Andrew Ira Rosenblum, poignantly recounting that he never met his grandfather but carries on the family’s fandom.

“You blessed us with the Knicks and this year we got our first championship,” the brave youngster said.
“Knicks in five,” he said, jokingly adding, “You also cursed us with the Jets. We’re still waiting on that one.”
The affectionate sports ribbing drew laughs from the crowd gathered at the hallowed Ground Zero site.
Andrew Ira Robenblum, 45, worked in Cantor Fitzgerald — a financial firm where 658 employees died when American Airlines Flight 11 slammed into the North Tower.

His grandson wasn’t the only family member of a person who died in 9/11 to bring up the champion Knicks.
The son of Glenn Davis Kirwin said he knew he was “smiling down as the Knicks won in five.”
