Barrage of earthquakes suddenly strike Southern California

Dozens of earthquakes struck Southern California on Saturday — with a major cluster concentrated in South Los Angeles.

The sudden burst included a 2.7-magnitude quake in Westmont around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a 2.6-magnitude temblor in the same area around 4:30 p.m., according to the US Geological survey

More than 60 quakes in total hit the area, with many coming in at under magnitude 2.0.
