Will There Be a Season 2 of ‘DTF St. Louis’ on HBO?
The Emmys are a celebration of the very best in television, and TV’s biggest night wouldn’t have been complete without giving Steven Conrad’s DTF St. Louis its well-deserved flowers.
Starring Jason Bateman, Linda Cardellini, and David Harbour, HBO’s buzzy dark dramedy about a very weird but very compelling love triangle was a favorite of Team Decider. The show earned 13 Emmy nominations, taking home wins for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Writing, Outstanding Cinematography, and Outstanding Directing.
Cardellini and Harbour also captured Emmy gold, winning for Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress in a Limited Series or Anthology. Harbour beat out his fellow co-stars Jason Bateman and Richard Jenkins for the honor, with Cardellini winning over Joy Sunday, who portrayed Jodie Plumb on DTF St. Louis.
DTF St. Louis is now streaming on HBO Max, but what does the future hold for this small-screen favorite? Will there be a DTF St. Louis Season 2? Here’s everything we know.
How Many Episodes Are There In DTF St. Louis?
HBO’s award show darling consists of seven episodes.
Will There Be a Season 2 of DTF St. Louis on HBO?
DTF St. Louis was written as a miniseries, so as of now, we don’t expect a second season. But that doesn’t mean that the show couldn’t potentially continue in some capacity. The key word being potentially.
The Season 1 story between Clark, Floyd, and Carol is complete, but in an April interview with GQ, series creator Steven Conrad was asked about potentially returning to the wild world of DTF St. Louis. The interviewer remarked that they’d “tune in for more of Richard Jenkins and Joy Sunday talking sex and solving cases.”
“Well, there’s a new instrument now: the White Lotus instrument,” Conrad said regarding a potential second season. “It’s similar themes and a different setting. A DTF anthology would be sex and violence, and if you had to pick two things as a writer to be restricted to, sex and violence are pretty good. There’s extended possibilities and infinite results, so I could do it.”
As of now, there are no new episodes of DTF St. Louis on the horizon, but who knows what the future may bring.
