There’s currently no Pluribus Season 2 premiere date on the books, and Gilligan has warned fans (and his mom) that they’ll have to wait a while before new episodes arrive. At the 2026 Emmys, he and Seehorn shared their latest update…

Seehorn revealed that she had yet to see any Season 2 scripts, and Gilligan gave an update on the sophomore season’s progress, saying, “It took us a while, we figured it out, but Season 2 is not technically all written. We’ve broken it out, which is the hard part. In other words, the plot of all episodes (is figured out). The first and second are written.”

“The rest of them are in various stages of being written, but we know what the whole season is, and we will share it soon with Rhea. Sometimes the actors like Karolina and Samba, sometimes they don’t necessarily want to know. They kind of want to be surprised, which I kind of like that,” Gilligan continued.

When fans learned that production was set to begin in fall 2026, they were optimistic about a potential late 2027 premiere. And Karolina Wydra confirmed on the red carpet that filming will begin “very, very soon.” But based on Gilligan’s latest update, it’s sounding like Pluribus could make a 2028 return, which certainly isn’t ideal. But timing can always change, so stay tuned for more Season 2 updates!
