A primetime game used to lead to a sleepless night for Giants fans.

Before Cam Skattebo and Jaxson Dart were carving up the Eagles (Oct. 9, 2025) and Cowboys (last Sunday) with the whole league watching, the Giants were quarterbacked by Daniel Jones, whose 1-15 primetime record with the Giants was the worst in the history of the NFL.

Those Giants — like their quarterback and head coaches — were vanilla by design. Stiff, even. Afraid of delivering bulletin-board material.

You can call it a coincidence that those Brian Daboll-, Joe Judge- and Pat Shurmur-led teams dropped passes, jumped offsides, missed kicks, tripped over the turf monster and invented other ways to lose and become a primetime punchline year after year. But a correlation seems more likely, especially when the swaggy Tommy DeVito led the Giants to a primetime upset in Jones’ place against the Packers in 2023.
