The Yankees and Aaron Judge have two basic public postures when it comes to his injuries — dissembling and disrespectful.

It lowers both team and player. Does nothing for their reputations. And certainly gives no thoughts to their fan base.

I could get it if this was a high-minded defense of HIPAA rights. But this feels tied up in paranoia and gripes. And, again, cares not a whit about the paying customer.

Because Judge and his bosses should read this sentence with the utmost sincerity with which it is offered: I personally don’t care what the status of his current injury is, except to the extent that I would always prefer all the best players play since that usually provides a more enjoyable sport to cover.
