A Florida couple claimed they were allegedly attacked and pepper-sprayed by two women who were upset that they had briefly been walking in the road.

Felyz Rodriguez, who is transgender, and Davin Lopez had only briefly stepped off the sidewalk and into the road while heading to work in northwest Miami-Dade on Sunday when they were allegedly abused by the two women in a car, NBC Miami reported.

The confrontation escalated so much that the driver, who was wearing bright green booty shorts, scuffled with Rodriguez, tugging at her hair, according to wild video shared online.

Rodriguez was flung to the ground after getting caught in the open door. 

The couple have since claimed tempers flared following a road rage incident.

“They were like, guys, get out of the road, idiots,” Lopez said, explaining what led up to the attack.

Lopez admitted he made a “hand gesture” toward the car after they yelled, which prompted the driver to abruptly turn around and race back toward them.

Rodriguez started recording on her phone, and Lopez can be seen walking in front of her, asking “why the f–k y’all bothering us,” at the duo in the car.

The couple then said the two women jumped out of the vehicle and launched their attack.

“Next thing you know, one gets out and starts pepper spraying me,” Lopez said.

The pepper spray can be heard being released from its canister as Rodriguez recorded the car’s license plate.

Another video recorded by a nearby resident shows the violent altercation unfolding on the corner of the road.

“There is a girl in a car trying to run over a guy at the corner of my house,” the resident can be heard telling authorities on the phone.

Rodriguez revealed she didn’t want to make the situation worse – despite having her hair pulled.

“She yanks me, I’m trying my best to not put my hands on anybody because, instead, of trying to make it worse I’m trying to de-escalate it.”

Rodriguez said as she was being assaulted by the one suspect at the open driver’s side door of the car, the other hopped into the driver’s seat and reversed.

Video shows Rodriguez getting caught in the open door and flung to the ground.

“Oh my god! Oh my god!” the resident recording yells out in fear after watching the driver reverse into Rodriguez.

Investigators said Rodriguez and Lopez were left with bruises, cuts and swelling while the brazen attackers fled the scene.

“It was all unprovoked; we’re just walking,” Rodriguez said.

“It’s just sad, honestly, just thinking about it, it confuses me, I’m confused, I’m distraught, I’m just traumatized at this point honestly.”

Rodriguez questioned whether the attack was a “hate crime.”

“Is it a hate crime, is it something personal, or is it simply you have nothing to do?” Rodriguez told the outlet.

Lopez wrote on Facebook Monday that “hopefully they are able to catch these females for causing us distress and emotional/physical damage.”

“People like this who think it’s okay to just antagonize, provoke and ATTACK ANYONE just out of boredom should pay serious consequences… and we gonna make sure of it,” he wrote.
