Baby, she was born this way! 

Lady Gaga was determined to be involved in every step of the surrogacy process as she embarked on her journey to motherhood no matter what it took, Page Six has learned.

“This has been a very long and emotional process for Gaga,” a source exclusively told Page Six. “There have been a lot of ups and downs along the way, and it certainly didn’t happen overnight.”

“There were so many appointments, meetings and logistics involved, and she was incredibly hands-on throughout the entire surrogacy process,” the insider said. “She was very involved with her surrogate and wanted to be part of every step of the pregnancy.”

According to the source, it was “really important” that the 40-year-old singer “have that connection with the woman carrying her daughter and to be involved as much as possible.”

“After everything she’d been through trying to become a mother, she didn’t want to miss a single moment,” the insider said. “Having someone she could trust throughout the pregnancy meant everything to her.”

Despite the challenges along the way, the source said the Oscar winner is overjoyed to have finally realized her dream of becoming a mother.

“It’s been a long journey to get here, but at the end of the day, every bit of it was worth it,” the insider said. “She finally has her baby girl, and she couldn’t be more thrilled.”

Gaga’s rep did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment. To date, neither Gaga nor her representatives have made any official announcement confirming she is a mother, whether the baby was born via surrogate, or the baby’s name or gender.

Page Six broke the news on Sept. 11 that Gaga and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, had welcomed their first child together.

The couple were also spotted for the first time with their newborn during an outing in Northern California.

In photos exclusively obtained by Page Six, the pop superstar was seen carrying the infant close to her chest as she took a stroll alongside the entrepreneur, 42.

The surprise arrival came after Gaga kept her reported journey to motherhood out of the public eye.

TMZ subsequently reported that the couple welcomed a daughter named Rose Bean with the help of a gestational carrier on June 9 in Los Angeles.

A source told us Monday that Gaga’s journey to become a mom, which we hear started in 2024, has had “ups and downs” due to a “hard road” of health struggles.

The insider said, “There have been moments of giddiness and moments of despair. It has been so sad. It’s a real tale of hard times, both physical and emotional, en route to this happy ending.

“She’s had severe hip issues and a heap of other physical ailments, alongside everything she puts her body through when performing.”

Despite keeping her journey to parenthood private, the Grammy winner has been open about her desire to become a mother.

“I’m excited to be a mom. I used to have a lot of apprehension about it,” she said in an interview with the New York Times in March 2025.

“The thing that’s the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing. So the more that we can give them space to discover who they are on their own, that’s the thing that I believe in the most.”

Gaga and Polansky began dating in 2019 and got engaged in 2024.
