Maxx Crosby and Kirk Cousins seem to be getting along just fine. Especially after learning about how different they are.

At least, with their finances.

Crosby and Cousins, who were both picked in the fourth round of the NFL draft, were asked how they spent their first NFL paycheck, and the answers from both of them went just as expected.

Cousins said his first purchase was a used Honda CRV from his brother, while Crosby went all out.

Crosby said he told his financial adviser that he wanted a “blue-face, bust-down Rolex. A diamond.”

“He told me, that’s a 10-sack watch,” Crosby said.

Crosby went ahead and reached the goal that was set for him by his financial adviser and immediately had buyer’s remorse after he received it.

“I got overcharged for the watch. It was way too small. It was falling apart. It was terrible,” Crosby said. “But I just wanted to get the watch, and I ended up getting rid of it.”

Despite parting with the watch, Crosby said this story helped make him accountable for pursuing goals.

Once the story was finished, Cousins told him that he liked it and said, “You can learn from good examples and bad examples.”

While the two are now able to laugh about the good times in the early stages of their careers, it wasn’t long ago that they were screaming and hollering at one another.

During the early stages of training camp in August, Cousins and Crosby were suspended from team activities for a day after they got into a fight in the middle of practice.

The two set aside their differences the next day and shook hands.

Since then, the vibes have been great for the Raiders. The team has won its first two games of the season — making it the team’s best start since 2021, the same season the Raiders last reached the playoffs.

Cousins has been productive, throwing for 413 yards and six touchdowns, while having a completion percentage of 67.8.

Crosby, who had knee surgery over the offseason, has been playing at a high level, recording 1.5 sacks with four QB hits.
