It’s rare to get this uneven an effort from AEW on pay-per-view.

But that is exactly what All Out was at the NOW Arena in Chicago on Saturday. The show started slow — not helped by Steven Borden’s injury, which caused a match to be stopped. Then it began delivering the quality fans expect, but ended with a main event some will love and others will see as a messy and overboard effort. This show will ultimately be remembered for its fantastic ladder match, but too much of the night felt forgettable.

How Much Is Too Much

Some shenanigans and outside interference were to be expected in a match between Will Ospreay and John Moxley, with the Death Riders and United Empire on either side. But what we got took it way too far in one of the most overbooked main events in AEW history. It felt way too much like an old-school Bloodline match.
