The spectatular practice play that typifies everything ‘generational’ Garrett Wilson is all about

Sterling Shepard had just been signed by the Jets off the street two weeks ago when he had a conversation with his mother, Cheri, about one particular player who was about to be his new teammate: receiver Garrett Wilson.

“This kid, Garrett, I’ve never been around anyone like that,’’ Shepard told her.

Shepard, who spent the first eight years of his career with the Giants, played with Wilson for the first time Sunday in Detroit, where Wilson delivered one of the best games of his career, catching 10 passes for 107 yards and a TD in a 31-24 loss to the Lions.

“The way he’s able to twist his body and make these acrobatic catches is something I’ve never seen,’’ Shepard told The Post. “He attacks the ball like a basketball player. It’s crazy to see.’’
