Bo Bichette’s Mets decision is coming — and it will have ripple effects
October 6, 2026
As he prepared to play his final games of the season in late September, Bo Bichette sounded like a player ready for an encore with the Mets.
The veteran infielder can opt out — within five days of the World Series’ conclusion — from the three-year contract worth $126 million he signed last winter.
But following his seesaw first season in Queens, it’s hardly a slam dunk that he is leaving.
“My wife loves living there,” Bichette told The Post, referring to New York. “I like living there. It’s a comfortable situation for us. As tough as it is to play in New York, I think there is something special about having that type of expectation on you, something about trying to climb that mountain.”
