Taylor Swift pairs romantic black lace with leather for Travis Kelce’s birthday dinner
When you think happiness, I hope you think that little black dress.
Taylor Swift and husband Travis Kelce stepped out to celebrate the NFL star’s 37th birthday Monday night at Nolita hotspot Torrisi, and the Grammy winner went monochrome in head-to-toe onyx.
She layered a Saint Laurent oversized leather jacket ($7,400) over a Simkhai lace-trimmed cashmere midi dress ($895), bundling up against the October chill.
The weather didn’t hamper her shoe choice, however: she bared her toes in strappy Jimmy Choo block-heel sandals. The singer carried a Givenchy bucket bag ($1,990) to round out the look.
The birthday boy also chose a subdued color palette in a dark green Louis Vuitton cardigan ($2,400) finished with a logo patch on the chest. He styled it with roomy wide-leg pants and heeled boots, giving his six-foot-five frame some extra height. (Fortunately, the restaurant has high ceilings.)
Both also had on their wedding bands. Swift’s is a curved yellow gold band, set with diamonds halfway around, that sits snugly beneath her Kindred Lubeck-designed engagement ring.
Kelce’s band is also yellow gold and looks to be engraved in a style that echoes his wife’s sparkler. The Clear Cut CEO Olivia Landau told Page Six Style that couples today are picking rings that “feel connected without being identical.”
The leather-and-lace formula is one Swift has played with before. For a date night in London in May, she wore a Toteme leather coat over a lacy Staud camisole and a coordinating Fleur du Mal skirt, adding black sandals and a coordinating handbag.
Simkhai is one of the singer’s go-to labels. Over the weekend, she wore a plaid minidress from the New York City brand when she crashed Dakota Johnson’s “Saturday Night Live” monologue.
She also chose a Simkhai bubble dress for dinner with Gigi Hadid, and she has worn the brand’s minidresses on several outings with Kelce.
