Kim Kardashian jokes about failing the bar exam in ‘All’s Fair’ Season 2 trailer: ‘Didn’t pass on my first try’

Kim Kardashian pokes fun at her real-life California bar exam failure in the new trailer for Season 2 of the legal drama “All’s Fair.”

Kardashian, who plays divorce attorney Allura Grant, makes the quip after Teyana Taylor, who acts as her mentee, Milan, reveals that she had recently passed the state exam.

“I didn’t pass on my first try,” Kardashian says in the trailer, which was released on Oct. 7.

The actress is met with grimaces by her co-stars Taylor, Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, and Niecy Nash-Betts.

Famously, the reality star failed the bar exam in November 2025, after initially announcing in 2019 that she was studying to become a lawyer.

However, while Kardashian may not yet be an attorney in real life, she stars as one in the Ryan Murphy series.

The show chronicles Kardashian’s character, Grant, who runs a firm of all-female divorce attorneys, as she deals with drama in both her personal and professional life.

The show’s second season, which premieres on Hulu Nov. 4, will continue following all of the on-screen scandals, including a “shocking revelation” that is set to threaten the law firm. While all of the main cast members are returning, the second season will feature guest stars including former “Real Housewives of New York” star Dorinda Medley and actress Denise Richards.

The premiere comes after the first season of “All’s Fair” was met with abysmal reviews from critics and social media users alike, though it was a success for Hulu, raking in 3.2 million views globally on its first three days.

Kardashian took it all in stride, as she hit back shortly after last year’s premiere by posting negative reviews on social media from viewers to her Instagram page.

She shared a series of the negative reviews in a slideshow, writing in the caption, “Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!?”

But just days after she made her debut as a high-powered attorney on TV, she faced the opposite in real life.

On Nov. 8, she shared the news that she had failed the California Bar Exam. In a December interview with Time magazine, she admitted that the experience broke her “confidence.”

In May, insiders claimed that Kardashian will not try again until 2027.

Previously, she failed the “baby bar” exam — the test required for non-traditional law students in California after their first year — four times, finally passing on her fourth try in December 2021. The reality star took an unconventional path to becoming a lawyer, enrolling in a six-year legal apprenticeship through California’s Law Office Study Program, which she completed in 2025.

Kardashian announced that she was studying law in a 2019 interview with Vogue, explaining that she was inspired after advocating for the release of former federal prisoner Alice Marie Johnson in 2018.
