2 people confirmed dead after fiery plane crash in California’s Wine Country

Two people died after their small plane crashed near an airport in Petaluma Wednesday.

The aircraft went down near the Petaluma Municipal Airport and nearby Rooster Run Golf Club around 10:30 a.m.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that plane was a Van’s RV-7A carrying two people.

Witness video showed fire crews hosing down the plane as heavy smoke billowed from the wreckage.

The identities of the victims are currently unknown.
