Marvin Harrison Jr. inactive for Week 5 as Cardinals work to finalize trade with struggling star

The NFL trade deadline is still a month away, but that didn’t stop the Cardinals from nearing a deal with one of their stars.

Marvin Harrison Jr., the No. 4 overall pick in 2024 and the son of the Hall of Fame wideout, will be inactive Sunday as Arizona finalizes a trade, according to ESPN.

The other team involved in the trade remains unclear, but Harrison has caught just five passes for 85 yards and a touchdown during the Cardinals’ first four games of the season.

Harrison’s best season occurred during his rookie year, when he collected 885 yards and eight touchdowns, but those numbers dipped to 608 and four, respectively, last season — and then continued falling to start 2026.

He hired agents Todd France and Tory Dandy of Athletes First this week.

The 49ers and Raiders are two teams who could use an addition at receiver.

More to come on this developing story.
