Vikings stadium board causes Tyreek Hill stir as wide receiver responds

Vikings fans briefly thought Tyreek Hill was coming to Minnesota.

Instead, they learned of a 10-year employee anniversary celebration.

A massive “Hill 10” graphic was displayed by the franchise outside of U.S. Bank Stadium on Tuesday, sending fans and the NFL world into a frenzy, with many believing the team was teasing the signing of the star free-agent wide receiver.

But the stadium quickly poured cold water on the speculation, explaining that the graphic was honoring employee Byren Hill for a decade of service with the club.

“As an employer, U.S. Bank Stadium has been celebrating our full time employees for a decade of service with recognition on the exterior digital boards,” the stadium’s official account wrote on X. “This was posted today to recognize and congratulate Byren Hill for ten years of service!”

Even Tyreek Hill got in on the fun, congratulating his mistaken namesake on social media.

“Congrats [Byren] Hill 🙌🏿,” he wrote on X.

The brief mix-up comes as the eight-time Pro Bowler searches for a new NFL home.

Hill, 32, remains a free agent after being released by the Dolphins months after suffering a gruesome, season-ending knee injury.

Earlier this month, Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he expected his client to sign with a team within days, with his former team, the Chiefs, among the potential suitors.

But more than a week later, Hill remains unsigned amid serious legal issues.

Hill is involved in an ongoing civil trial in Miami, where his estranged wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro, has accused him of repeatedly physically abusing her during their marriage.

He has denied the abuse allegations, although he admitted to verbally abusing Vaccaro while testifying last week.
