Ella Langley seemingly hits back after ‘The Voice’ coach Riley Green appears to take credit for her success: ‘Typical’

Ella Langley seemingly called out “The Voice” coach Riley Green for appearing to take credit for her success after he made a pointed remark about her on the singing competition.

Green, 37, brought up his history with Langley as he tried to convince country duo Ferryn & Brinkley to join his team on the NBC show’s Sep. 22 episode.

Langley opened for Green on tour in 2024 and 2025, and the pair released two hit duets: 2024’s “you look like you love me” and 2025’s “Don’t Mind If I Do.”

“There was a girl that reminded me a lot of y’all. I took her on tour with me. Her name’s Ella Langley. She’s doing pretty well,” Green told the duo, who received chair turns from all four coaches, including Green, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah and Adam Levine.

Ferryn & Brinkley — sisters Ferryn and Brinkley Wright — ultimately chose Green as their coach for the Battle Rounds.

But Langley, 27, didn’t appear to appreciate Green’s comment about her.

“When Riley took credit for your success on ‘The Voice,’ did that rub you the wrong way?!” a fan commented to her during an Instagram Live session Thursday.

“Yeah, when that man took credit? No, didn’t love that, but typical. Typical. Pretty typical,” Langley replied while getting her hair and makeup done.

She also unfollowed Green on social media, according to Us Weekly.

Green has yet to publicly address Langley’s reaction.

The country stars previously joined forces on their 2024 duet “you look like you love me.” The track topped Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, earned double-platinum certification and won musical event of the year at the 2024 Country Music Association Awards.

The song also picked up multiple honors at the 2025 CMA Awards, winning single of the year, song of the year and music video of the year.

The pair collaborated again in 2025 on “Don’t Mind If I Do,” the title track of Green’s third studio album. The song also topped Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and earned platinum certification.

Langley opened for Green on his Ain’t My Last Rodeo tour in 2024 and his Damn Country Music tour in 2025.

Green broke through in 2018 with “There Was This Girl” and followed it up with “I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died” in 2019.

He made his coaching debut on “The Voice” alongside Latifah in September, joining returning coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine for Season 30.

The latest dust-up comes during a busy stretch for Langley.

Her scheduled Tulsa, Okla., concert last Friday, Oct. 9, was abruptly canceled because of what was described as a “serious security threat.”

She also recently addressed online criticism after her hit “Choosin’ Texas” broke Mariah Carey’s record for the longest run at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“I don’t think I’ve ever had more opinions on myself in my life than I have in this last year,” Langley told the crowd at her concert in Columbus, Ohio, last month.
