Adam Schefter reveals Seahawks confession calling 49ers NFL’s best team

The 49ers’ road win against the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks this past weekend convinced a lot of the NFL that undefeated San Francisco is the league’s best team.

Some already believed this before Sunday’s game.

One such person is a member of the Seahawks’ staff, which NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed on his podcast Tuesday.

“That win on Sunday in Seattle was the most impressive win of the season by any team I’ve seen so far,” Schefter said.

“The 49ers have five — FIVE — surefire Hall of Famers on their roster right now,” Schefter added, listing Christian McCaffrey, Trent Williams, George Kittle, Mike Evans and Fred Warner.

“[I received a text] that came in on Saturday, just going back and forth with somebody in the Seahawks organization. And they just texted, ‘Gonna be a tough one on Sunday,’ and I said, ‘They are tough, but your team is also really good.’ And the response I got back was, ‘They are best in NFL right now, in my opinion,’” Schefter added.

“And that was Saturday — SATURDAY — before the 49ers went into Seattle, won the game, and justified that text that they are best in NFL right now.”

The 49ers are one of three undefeated teams remaining in the league, along with the Vikings and the Chiefs.

But given the injuries San Francisco has dealt with and its strength of schedule, its success so far has clearly left an impression around the league, even among its NFC West rivals.
