Todd and Julie Chrisley in $1.5m tax debt after prison pardon for tax evasion

Todd and Julie Chrisley are facing more than $1.5 million in unpaid federal taxes, according to a new tax lien filed against the reality TV couple more than a year after President Donald Trump pardoned them for their tax evasion and bank fraud convictions.

The Internal Revenue Service filed the $1,571,452 federal tax lien in Davidson County, Tennessee, on Aug. 19, 2026, according to records exclusively obtained by Page Six.

The lien lists two separate unpaid tax assessments: $142,410.72 for the tax period ending Dec. 31, 2021, and $1,429,041.89 for the period ending Dec. 31, 2022.

The assessments were dated Dec. 5, 2022, and Dec. 11, 2023, respectively, according to the filing.

The latest financial trouble comes after the couple received the presidential pardon from Trump in May 2025, freeing them from the prison sentences they had been serving for bank fraud and tax evasion.

The former “Chrisley Knows Best” reality stars were convicted in June 2022 of conspiring to defraud banks and evade federal taxes.

They were accused of obtaining more than $36 million in fraudulent loans using falsified financial documents and spending the money on luxury cars, designer clothes, real estate and travel.

Todd, 57, was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison in November 2022, while Julie, 53, received a seven-year sentence.

Both were also ordered to serve supervised release after prison, a requirement ultimately wiped out by their 2025 presidential pardon.

The couple reported to prison in January 2023, with Todd serving his sentence at a federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida, and Julie at a federal correctional institution in Tallahassee, Florida.

During his time behind bars, Todd taught a financial class, according to daughter Savannah Chrisley, 29, who called the arrangement ironic during an October 2023 episode of her “Unlocked” podcast.

“Dad’s definitely taught some classes too,” Savannah said at the time, adding that one of the subjects was a financial class. “Which, how ironic?”

During the podcast, Savannah also disclosed her mother taught a real estate class while incarcerated.

The couple’s prison sentences came to an end in May 2025, when Trump announced he would pardon them.

They were released from federal custody shortly afterward and reunited following more than two years apart.

Trump’s pardons covered the federal offenses for which the couple had been convicted. The newly filed tax lien, however, documents separate unpaid federal tax assessments.

Todd and Julie have since returned to sharing their lives publicly and host the podcast “Chrisley Confessions 2.0.”

Page Six has reached out to Todd and Julie for comment but did not receive a response.
