Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Archewell cuts staff as business faces mounting turbulence
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have quietly downsized their Archewell Productions company as their Hollywood ventures continue to face challenges.
“They cut staff over the last 12 to 18 months,” a source exclusively told Page Six.
According to the insider, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s company is now down to just a handful of employees at its Raleigh Studios offices in Los Angeles.
The staffing reductions impacted production crews hired to work on projects like “With Love, Meghan,” and “Harry & Meghan” — not full-time employees of Archewell Productions, Page Six has learned.
Despite the downsizing and the couple’s move back to the UK, Archewell Productions continues to maintain its Hollywood office.
Employees still come and go from the building, according to the insider.
Reps for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
The staffing reductions come amid mounting questions about the Sussexes’ Hollywood ambitions and their business relationship with Netflix.
The couple launched Archewell Productions in 2020 after stepping back from their roles as senior working members of the royal family.
The company went on to produce several projects for Netflix, including the couple’s 2022 docuseries, “Harry & Meghan,” and Markle’s lifestyle series, “With Love, Meghan.”
“Harry & Meghan” was released as a six-part limited series, while “With Love, Meghan” has not been renewed for a third season, although the possibility of future specials has not been ruled out.
However, their partnership with the streaming service has faced scrutiny amid reports of behind-the-scenes tensions and questions about the performance of their projects.
In March, Variety reported that Archewell Productions had struggled to deliver successful programming and that its relationship with Netflix had become increasingly strained.
Page Six previously reported that two of the couple’s highly anticipated Netflix movie projects were stuck in limbo, raising further questions about the future of their partnership with the streaming giant.
The reported staffing reductions at Archewell Productions follow previously disclosed cuts at the couple’s separate charitable organization.
As Page Six reported in December 2025, three employees were let go from Archewell Philanthropies, formerly known as the Archewell Foundation, amid a restructuring intended to reduce operating costs.
At the time, a spokesperson acknowledged that staffing reductions were “inevitable” as the organization underwent changes.
However, those cuts involved the couple’s charitable operations, rather than their Hollywood production company.
Meanwhile, Harry, 42, and Markle, 45, have been spending more time in the United Kingdom after deciding to relocate from their sprawling Montecito, California, estate.
Despite the move, the Sussexes have continued pursuing business opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic.
The pair made their first official joint outing on Thursday since returning to the UK.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out in Nottingham around 10:35 a.m., with Markle telling one well-wisher that “it’s great to be back.”
