Stanley Tucci on if he’s spoken to Michael Bay about ‘Transformers’ and whether he’d return for a ‘Devil Wears Prada 3’

Art heists are very au courant. In fact, the Wall Street Journal recently proclaimed we are in “The Year of the Heist,” an era that apparently kicked off with the October 19, 2025, great Louvre robbery.

So, when a movie drops featuring Stanley Tucci as a master thief, we perk up at Page Six Hollywood. The Amazon Prime Original hits the streaming platform today, and we are ready for it. After all, we have to wait five more months before Amazon’s long-in-the-works Michael B. Jordan remake of “The Thomas Crown Affair,” which we hear was still in production just last month.

We caught up with Tucci — the great character actor, Oscar nominee for “The Lovely Bones” and unlikely foodie influencer — while he promoted the Thomas Vincent-directed “Masterplan” in London. While perched in front of a replica Mona Lisa, Tucci dished on playing a notorious thief, his viral Instagram cooking posts and what’s in store for “The Devil Wears Prada” and “Transformers” franchises.

Stanley Tucci stars in the Amazon movie “Masterplan.”

P6H: What was your first reaction when you first finished reading Thomas Vincent and David Wolstencroft’s “Masterplan” script?

Tucci: That it was funny. That I really liked the role because it was so funny and odd. I’d never played anything like that before, and it reminded me of the heist movies when I was younger.

Who have been some of your favorite cinematic thieves over the years?

The “Ocean’s” movies, the ones that Steven Soderbergh did. I love them. They’re just so much fun. I love “The Italian Job.” The very first one is very funny and odd. The end of it is brilliant.

If you could steal one famous work of art, what would it be?

A Giacometti sculpture. Man Pointing is a beautiful one. [We’re guessing that Alberto Giacometti’s “L’Homme au doigt” might be a tough one to lift considering that the bronze sculpture became the most expensive sculpture ever when it sold for $141.3 million in 2015.]

Your recipe posts have been going viral on Instagram. You obviously wrote a best-selling memoir about your relationship with food and cooking. But what prompted you to become such a forward-facing foodie on social media?

I don’t know. I just love it. I love doing it. I’m have a cookware line, so that plays a part in it, but that only started four years ago. I like to cook, and I like to show people the things I like to cook. Going through Italy has just made me more and more interested in food every day, and I want to be able to share that in smaller doses.

Michael Bay is coming back for a new “Transformers movie.” Will you be returning as well?

That’s up to him.

Have you gotten a call yet?

I did speak to him, but I don’t know if it was what he was, um, he just was touching base, so we’ll see.

Given that “The Devil Wears Prada 2” has made nearly $700 million at the box office, are there any plans for a third?

I think they would like that. And I wouldn’t mind it either. The characters are so lovable. And hateable. It can’t help but stay in your consciousness. And everyone is interested in fashion, even though they might not know it.
