‘Marshals’ Star Ash Santos Shares Hopes For An “Iconic” ‘Dutton Ranch’ Crossover: “Who Wouldn’t Want To See That?”
Ash Santos has officially entered the Marshals and Dutton Ranch crossover chat, and like fans, she’s rooting for Taylor Sheridan’s two Yellowstone spin-offs to cross paths at some point down the line.
“How iconic would that be?” Santos, who plays Andrea Cruz, a teammate of Luke Grimes’ character Kayce Dutton, told DECIDER during a recent interview in our Manhattan studio.
“It’s funny, I have seen Dutton Ranch, and I think the world of Kelly [Reilly] and Cole [Hauser] as actors. Beth and Rip are some of the most iconic characters in television,” Santos continued. “I think they’re written so wonderfully, and there’s so much depth in their partnership on screen that people really resonate with.”
After both Yellowstone spin-offs had extremely similar Season 1 finales, fans started to manifest an epic Season 2 crossover event that would see Kayce, Beth (Reilly), and Rip (Hauser) reunite in Texas to save their sons Tate (Brecken Merrill) and Carter (Finn Little). In a twist, Marshals‘ Season 2 premiere didn’t take Kayce to Texas, and Grimes confirmed that we won’t see Beth and Rip on Marshals this fall. But with Dutton Ranch expected to film Season 2 in 2027, there’s still hope for a crossover — especially after Grimes’ and Santos’ comments about a Dutton sibling reunion.
When DECIDER asked Santos if she’s on board for a crossover, she said, “Hopefully. It would be cool. I agree with the fans. It’s hard not to want that, especially because Kayce was so close with Beth, and they had such an interesting brother-sister dynamic. I’m like, ‘Who wouldn’t want to see that?’”
“It’s not out of the question that we might have some sort of crossover at some point,” Grimes told TV Insider. “Beth’s basically Kayce’s only living family member other than Tate. It would make sense that down the line we’d at least talk. “[Kelly and I have] texted about it back and forth a lot, talked about how it’d be fun and necessary for our story arcs, however they’re going to end.”
Those promising comments came just months after Reilly and Hauser shared their own positive sentiments about a potential crossover with TV Insider.

“What I will say is I’d love to work with Luke. We saw him in New York for the Upfronts, Kelly and I both, and I just love him, man. I miss him,” Hauser said. “I miss him too,” Reilly echoed.
“I love people that we’ve worked with over the years in Yellowstone, but the fact that he’s on his show and we’re on this show, if there’s a way to somewhere down the road do something special where he comes and visits us or if we go to Montana, great,” Hauser continued.
“Go find our sons,” Reilly added. “…I think Beth misses her brother, so I would love that to happen. And we were all very close. Wes Bentley, who played Jamie, Kelsey [Asbille], who played Monica Dutton. We were a family, and we miss them very much. So the more we can get back in, that’s what we’re fighting for, Cole and I. Where we get our wishes, we would love to have as many back in our world.”
Beth and Kayce’s brother, Jamie — who fans said goodbye to in Yellowstone‘s finale — and Kayce’s wife Monica — who we learned died of cancer in Marshals‘ Season 1 premiere — likely wouldn’t appear in a crossover situation (though we know Taylor Sheridan loves a flashback, so never say never). That said, there’s room for other Yellowstone stars to get involved, like Gil Birmingham and Mo Brings Plenty, who reprised their roles on Marshals.
We’ll ultimately have to wait and see what the spinoffs have in store, but Reilly told The Dallas Morning News that Sheridan will be more involved in Dutton Ranch Season 2. So fingers crossed that these two Sheridan shows can find a way to pull off one of TV’s most epic crossover events.
Until then, stay tuned for more Marshals Season 2 insight from Decider’s interview with Santos in the coming days.
