NFL Week 6 betting trends: 49ers overtake Rams, Eagles’ odds crater

The NFL betting landscape looks dramatically different just one-third into the season.

From a new Super Bowl favorite to a stunning injury-driven collapse and a surprise leader in the Rookie of the Year race, oddsmakers have been busy adjusting their forecasts.

Here are four of the biggest betting trends heading into Week 7.

49ers overtake Rams as Super Bowl favorites

The 49ers are the new team to beat in the Super Bowl futures market.

San Francisco improved to 6-0 with Monday’s win over Washington, moving from +680 to +540 at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Meanwhile, the Rams’ disastrous start continues to take a toll on their championship hopes.

Los Angeles, which entered the season as the Super Bowl favorite, dropped to 2-4 after Sunday’s shocking loss to the Cardinals as 12.5-point favorites.

The Rams have plummeted from +700 to 12/1 in just one week.

Eagles’ odds collapse after Jalen Hurts injury

Philadelphia’s season has gone from bad to worse.

The Eagles have lost four straight games, and the news that Jalen Hurts will miss the rest of the season due to blood clots has sent their Super Bowl odds tumbling from 40/1 to 200/1 at DraftKings.

The fallout has extended to the point-spread market.

Philadelphia opened as a 3-point favorite against Dallas on Monday night but is now a 5.5-point home underdog — a staggering 8.5-point swing.

Undefeated Chiefs are underdogs to struggling Seahawks

Kansas City has yet to lose a game this season, but oddsmakers apparently aren’t convinced.

Despite their 5-0 record, the Chiefs are 2.5-point underdogs against the defending champion Seahawks on Sunday night.

Seattle has dropped two straight games and is just 1-3-2 against the spread this season.

The Seahawks opened as 1.5-point favorites, but the line has moved another point in their favor.

It’s the first time Patrick Mahomes and Co. have been underdogs this season.

Carnell Tate takes over Offensive Rookie of the Year race

The Offensive Rookie of the Year market has a new favorite.

Titans wide receiver Carnell Tate has surged to +200 at DraftKings, overtaking Denzel Boston, who led the pack just last week.

Tate caught six passes for 70 yards and his first NFL touchdown Sunday against the Colts, bringing his season totals to 29 receptions and 344 yards.

He was listed at +500 last week.

Jeremiyah Love (+300) and Boston (+400) remain his closest competition in an increasingly competitive awards race.
