John Harbaugh’s Giants quarterback secrecy is pointless
October 21, 2026
Predictably, when John Harbaugh was asked Monday who his starting quarterback will be against the Texans on Sunday in Houston, he tap-danced like a Bourbon Street performer.
“We’re working through that now,” the Giants head coach said, some 20 hours after his team lost to New Orleans at MetLife Stadium, where he benched Jameis Winston in the fourth quarter and inserted young newcomer J.J. McCarthy.
“Honing in on a decision,” Harbaugh added, sounding as if he and his coaches were working overtime in the laboratory with complicated permutations.
There’s zero chance that Harbaugh, as he spoke to reporters over Zoom on Monday, didn’t know whether he plans to start Winston or McCarthy in Houston.
