Amy Griffin scandals test loyalties among Hollywood, uptown elite
New York’s social elite and Hollywood A-listers are conflicted over where they stand with Amy Griffin amid her ongoing scandals, a source exclusively told Page Six.
“People would like to distance themselves from her,” the insider told us, referring to her latest legal drama and alleged wedding outburst that has rattled members of her inner circle.
“People are outraged at the way she is behaving,” the source continued. “Everyone is talking about it. They are finding the whole thing to be distasteful.”
We hear that while several A-listers are eager to sever ties with Griffin, their business and financial entanglements with the venture capitalist have made them hesitant to do so.
Meanwhile, an insider shared with Page Six that other power players remain firmly on her side.
The G9 Ventures founder, notably, is a major investor in several celebrity companies, including Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand, Goop, and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine media company.
Griffin, 49, also holds stakes in Bumble and Spanx, and serves on both companies’ boards of directors.
Griffin has been navigating a legal dispute since March when a former classmate sued her, claiming the financier stole her account of childhood sexual abuse and portrayed it as her own story in her 2025 memoir, “The Tell.”
The businesswoman wrote in her book that she was raped by a teacher — and recovered memories of the alleged sexual assault during MDMA-assisted therapy.
In June, Griffin filed a defamation countersuit and denied adopting the other woman’s trauma.
While covering the scandal on his “Hot Mics” podcast in recent months, entertainment journalist Billy Bush has continued to cast doubt on the veracity of Griffin’s tell-all.
He claimed on Monday that he was accosted by Griffin at Jennifer Meyer’s star-studded wedding over his reporting.
Bush, 55, accused the “unhinged” writer of telling their fellow guests not to speak with him — with Demi Moore trying to convince her otherwise — before confronting him.
Bush insisted to podcast listeners he acted “calm and cool” during the interaction, telling Griffin, “OK, I can see you’re upset. I don’t think this is the time nor the place to have this discussion. I’d love to talk to you on the record and/or off. Either way, at another time, but not now.”
He claimed his girlfriend was also approached by Griffin at the Oct. 10 nuptials, with the writer asking, “How could you be with someone who’s abusing me?… He’s doing this for his entertainment.”
Bush dubbed Griffin a “narcissis[t]” with a lot of “nerve” and pointed out to his listeners, “This is another woman’s wedding. Imagine making it all about you?”
Reps for Griffin could not be reached for comment.
