Trump slams NYC’s horse carriage ban, calling Central Park activity ‘a great tradition’

It’s a ‘neigh’ from the White House.

President Trump slammed the Big Apple’s push to ban the horse-carriage industry, calling the Central Park activity “a great tradition.”

“The Horse-drawn Carriage in New York City is a quintessential New York experience. So sad that, for political reasons, we will see it go!” Trump shared on Truth Social.

“So sad to see the beloved Central Park Horse-drawn Carriage Industry ending after over a Century, based largely on one tragic accident,” he wrote in a separate post.

“When there is a car accident in the area, of which there are many, they don’t stop cars from entering the Park. So why would they stop the Carriages?” Trump said.

The City Council was slated Thursday to vote on a bill — dubbed “Romanch’s Law” for Romanch Mahajan, the teen tourist killed this year in a fall from a Central Park carriage horse — that would phase out the practice by 2028.

City lawmakers have been arguing over whether to nix the industry for decades, with animal activists backing a ban and the union repping the carriage drivers arguing it would put them out of a job.
