Wrong-way Citi Bike rider left clinging to life after crash near NYC’s Central Park

A wrong-way Citi Bike rider was left clinging to life when he collided head-on with another rider steps from Central Park late Wednesday, cops and sources said.

The 27-year-old Citi Bike rider was heading west in the eastbound lane on Central Park North near Malcolm X Boulevard around 7:45 p.m. when he slammed into a 20-year-old man on an Amyet bike heading the right way, according to authorities and sources.

The impact threw both men from their bikes just outside the northernmost end of the park, home to the Harlem Meer.

The older man was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside hospital in critical condition with head trauma, police said.

The younger cyclist, who suffered head and body trauma, went to the same hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The collision came a day after an e-bike rider was struck – and critically hurt – by a hit-and-run driver on a busy Brooklyn street, cops said.

The 33-year-old biker was struck around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on Nostrand Avenue near Atlantic Avenue in Crown Heights by the driver of a white 2026 Hyundai Elantra, police said.

That cyclist was still listed in critical condition Thursday, and the fleeing driver had not been caught.
