Cameron Carr gets a kernel of Lakers rookie treatment

The Lakers have started the season 2-0 for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

With everyone in such high spirits to kick off the new campaign, the Lakers took the opportunity to prank rookie Cameron Carr ahead of Saturday’s practice. Carr found his car full of popcorn, which spewed out as he opened the door.

“Who’s idea was this?” Carr said through a smile.

Lakers teammates gathered around Carr’s vehicle and began to taste the popcorn.

“Bro the popcorn’s good though,” Carr added.

“You better clean that,” Luka Doncic told the rookie.

The Lakers selected Carr as the 24th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. His growth and development with the Lakers is pivotal for the team’s success.

Carr has yet to make his NBA debut as he is dealing with a right oblique strain and has been sidelined for the Lakers’ first two games of the season against the Warriors and Clippers. There’s a chance Carr could suit up for the Lakers’ matchup with the Jazz Sunday, but it’s not guaranteed.

The 2026-27 season is an important campaign for the Lakers as its officially the Doncic era, the first without LeBron James. Thus far, it appears the massive roster overhaul has paid off but the Lakers will have to contend in a loaded Western Conference to prove they are a force to be reckoned with.
