Kamala Harris jokes about cursing out the TV in rage at Trump after her loss: ‘We’ve been depressed and angry’

LACONIA, New Hampshire — Some might call that a TV hit.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris raged against President Trump, joking about shouting at the TV and “throwing things” in frustration with the country’s leadership during a brief swing through New Hampshire to rally support for Senate hopeful Rep. Chris Pappas (D-NH).

“So for the last year and a half, we have been pissed,” Harris told a room full of volunteers, emphasizing the word “pissed” with a long laugh and a big grin. “We’ve been depressed and angry.”

“We’ve been frustrated,” she added, growing more serious.

“We’ve been feeling alone, hopeless, powerless. We’ve gone through the last year and a half — many of us, whether we admit it or not, have been saying things to the television that we would not say where we pray.”

“Some of us have been throwing things.”

Harris, of course, lost bigly to Trump in the 2024 election — after blowing through $1 billion in her abbreviated three-month campaign. The president claimed every swing state and 50% of the popular vote — compared to 48% for the former vice president.

During her stump speech, Harris refrained from mentioning Trump by name, but didn’t hide who she was talking about.

Harris was joined by New Hampshire gubernatorial hopeful Cinde Warmington and congressional contender Stefany Shaheen during the event in Portsmouth, NH — in addition to Senate candidate Pappas.

Her swing through the Granite State comes after other possible 2028 presidential contenders made stops there, as well.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), for instance, joined the campaign trail in New Hampshire the week before.

Harris also had stops in Nevada and Mississippi over recent days and plans to stop in Wisconsin and Georgia this week.

During her brief remarks, Harris all but called Trump a tyrant. She also tore into his team as the “most callous, corrupt and incompetent presidential administration we have ever witnessed.”

“The founders imagined a moment like this. They imagined a moment that there would be a tyrant in office,” she stressed. “They imagined a moment where there would be feckless people who are supposed leaders, who bend a knee at the foot of the tyrant.”

“They imagined there would be a moment that we would create for the people, for the people to speak and use their power to put in place the checks and balances that the people so rightly deserve.”

“And this is that moment.”

After speaking to supporters and volunteers for New Hampshire Democrats, a jubilant Harris was seen serving drinks at Feathered Friend Brewing in Concord, NH.

Then she taped an episode of the “Reproductive Freedom for All” podcast before a studio audience and reiterated her message about turning “anger into action.”

“Now is the moment where the power of the people kicks in to speak, and we are ready to speak loudly. I’m seeing that around the country. We have power,” she added. “And the power is with the people, and the people are done and ready to say, ‘We deserve more, and it doesn’t have to be this way.’”

Harris is currently the frontrunner among speculated 2028 Democratic presidential contenders, with an 11.5-percentage-point edge, according to the latest RealClearPolitics aggregate of polls.

Pappas’ race against Republican John Sununu is considered competitive, though the Democratic congressman has an edge in most polls, including a 6.5-percentage-point lead in the RealClearPolitics aggregate.
