Jets takeaways, report card from NFL Week 7 loss to Dolphins
The Jets lost to the previously winless Dolphins 28-25 on Sunday to fall to 2-5 this season. Here are some takeaways from the game:
1. The Jets found a way to lose to a team without a win Sunday. It is inexcusable and it is a loss that is going to stick to beleaguered coach Aaron Glenn. This season was all about evaluating whether Glenn should be the coach in 2027. Before Sunday, the evidence he should return was not strong. After this loss, it feels impossible to make a case why he should be back.
What makes Glenn look even worse is the script that John Harbaugh is writing with the Giants across town. The Giants pulled out another improbable win Sunday afternoon just after the Jets had another improbable loss. For those who like to argue the importance of having a good head coach, Harbaugh is now at the top of the list of examples. While the Jets continue to step on rakes, the Giants are finding ways to win despite missing some of their best players.
Glenn had another miserable day where his team looked ill-prepared and he bungled the end of the first half. Glenn does not need help looking bad, but Harbaugh is providing even more evidence of how much of a difference a good coach can make.
