Zendaya shows out for hometown Valkyries during WNBA Finals

Zendaya is back in the Bay Area and is in full sports mode.

Over the weekend, the A-list Hollywood actress attended her nephew’s football game at Folsom. On Monday, she was at Ballhalla for Game 5 of the WNBA Finals between the Valkyries and Dream.

Zendaya, an Oakland native, was spotted in the audience at the Chase Center, wearing a Valkyries playoff t-shirt.

The Golden State franchise is in the midst of only its second season of existence, but the Valkyries have caught the attention of several stars. George Lucas, Too $hort, Kehlani, Ludacris and Kerry Washington are just a few celebrities that have been spotted at Ballhalla, home of the Valkyries.

The team has sold out every single regular-season home game the past two seasons. Now, Golden State is two wins away from a WNBA championship.

While winning has been apart of the Valkyries’ identity thus far, the recipe to success was building their brand. The WNBA squad shares an arena with the Warriors, but 49ers star Deebo Samuel said the atmosphere at a Valkyries’ playoff game was louder than an NBA matchup.

The franchise has built a brand around its Bay Area community, which has reached Oakland’s very own, Zendaya.
