NYC woman, 24, found beaten to death in home, husband questioned: cops, sources

A 24-year-old woman was found beaten to death in her Queens home – and investigators were questioning her husband, who allegedly called his mother to confess, according to authorities and sources.

Tania Morales, 24, was discovered unconscious with trauma to her head and a cut on her wrist inside her home on tree-lined Park Drive East near Jewel Avenue in Kew Gardens Hills around 8:30 p.m. Monday, police said.

Morales’ 22-year-old husband contended he learned Morales had been cheating on him, law enforcement sources said.

Following the violence, he allegedly phoned his mom, claiming his wife had attempted to stab him before he hit her with a pole, law enforcement sources said.

The suspected killer’s mom showed up at the grisly scene and called 911, the sources said.

Morales was taken to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.

By Tuesday afternoon, police were still talking to Morales’ husband, who was not immediately charged or formally identified.

Morales’ death comes on the heels of another suspected domestic murder in Queens.

Missing mom Seraphina Pereira, 35, was found dead in a shallow grave in the Rockaways Saturday – and her boyfriend, Rogelio Lozano-Garita, 26, was charged with fatally shooting her and hiding her body, police said.
