Yankees should repair relationship with Jorge Posada — for multiple reasons

The Yankees did make an attempt to keep Jorge Posada under employment shortly after his playing career ended, and while those talks broke down over money, they need to fix things with him so they can bring him into the fold. He has a lot to offer, and if anyone should know that, it is them.

It isn’t unusual for relationships to strain with star players. But in this case, it would behoove the team to use Posada to try to help fix their two biggest problems of 2025: a lack of accountability and a lack of hitting.

Posada revealed on The Post’s podcast “The Show” that his Yankees relationship is minimal. “I don’t feel welcome … I don’t think they want me there to tell you the truth,” Posada said on the podcast.

One of the best things about Posada is that he always tells the truth as he sees it. That lack of a filter might help the Yankees, who need a little more toughness to go with superior talent. Posada was not only a great player and hitting savant but a winner who cared and held teammates accountable, and that’s surely why they tried to hire him years ago.
