‘Paranoid’ Jenny McCarthy is living in a tent after mold poisoning diagnosis
Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg says that she is living in a tent while she detoxes from mold poisoning.
“Because I am paranoid now about basically sleeping anywhere, I live in a tent,” McCarthy said during an Oct. 29 episode of her podcast. “I’m not even joking.”
McCarthy then showed off a video of what appeared to be a tan camping tent in her backyard, draped in a rainproof cover that she uses to protect against “chemtrails” and sprinklers. The tent appears to be in a California residence, as she mentioned that she was not “worried about the rain in California.”
The “Masked Singer” judge shared that she is in month seven of mold detox, and is “too paranoid” to live anywhere else than her tent.
“That’s where this journey has brought me,” McCarthy said. “After all of those surgeries, after being diagnosed with Mycotoxin poisoning, I feel a little bit sometimes crazy and like the walls are caving in and paranoid.”
“It’s really, really hard, and they talk about people with mold poisoning having PTSD, I’m still in the traumatic part,” she added.
Page Six reached out to reps for McCarthy, but did not hear back.
During the episode, McCarthy, who is married to Donnie Wahlberg, detailed her diagnosis, which she received from a doctor in December 2025.
She shared that her first symptom was a terrible, reoccurring infected root canal which blew up the left side of her face.
McCarthy also struggled with constant chalazions on her eye, going through months of painful eye surgeries, as well as severe skin rashes and food allergies.
“I couldn’t eat anything, and I started to get SIBO [Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth],” she claimed. “That means whenever you eat, your stomach blows up.”
Since her diagnosis, McCarthy has been put on many vitamins and supplements. She has also remediated her entire house of mold, which was performed by a specialist for tens of thousands of dollars.
“Then, you have to have the contractors come in and rebuild your house… and then you hear, you have to get rid of all your furniture, you have to get rid of all your clothes,” the former “Playboy” model explained.
Her podcast episode comes just a few weeks after she and Wahlberg listed their Illinois home for $2.8 million in September.
The two have owned the four-bedroom home for more than a decade.
