Lindsay Clancy true-crime fanatic accused of posting secret recording of Patrick Clancy’s dad
A Lindsay Clancy-obsessed true-crime influencer has been charged with posting a secretly recorded phone call with the killer’s ex-father-in-law on social media.
Shawna Gramkow, a 46-year-old Sanford, Florida, woman, was hit with one count of unlawful wiretapping for posting the audio of a recording of the father of Clancy’s former husband, Patrick Clancy, to her Instagram page, saltylunatics, on Aug. 30, court papers allege.
Patrick Clancy’s dad, Christopher Clancy, filed a police report Sept. 7, after he heard his own voice in the audio recording posted to Gramkow’s page, according to the filing.
The court papers did not say who might have been on the other end of the phone at the time, exactly what was said or who recorded it.
They only said the alleged recording was “mostly unintelligible,” although Christopher “recognized some of his comments as being in regard to his eldest son Brian.”
Christopher, who testified at Lindsay’s trial for fatally strangling her three young kids, said he remembered receiving a call from an unknown number while he was driving Aug. 6 — a time when Clancy’s trial had been under way for weeks.
“Instead of declining the incoming call; he believes he accidentally answered, creating an open line of communication for the unknown calling party who proceeded to record [Christopher] Clancy’s comments without his knowledge or consent,” the court papers alleged.
Gramkow allegedly said in the video post that Lindsay’s lawyer “released Patrick’s phone number and one of y’all decided to give him a call.
“Now on this particular call, Patrick’s dad was still on the line, he was kind of mumbling still on the phone, I guess he didn’t know that the phone was still going,” she said, court papers claimed.
The particular post on Gramkow’s page, which has 886 followers and features countless posts with conspiracy theories about Lindsay’s trial, appears to have been removed. She has more than 50,000 followers across social-media platforms, according to a report by Fox News.
Gramkow has been summoned to appear in Scituate criminal court in Massachusetts over the matter Nov. 20, the court papers show.
In a Facebook post, Gramkow alluded to being criminally charged when she said the “allegations are false and easy to prove.” In another post Oct. 27, she linked to a GoFundMe page and said she needed to take steps “to protect myself right away.
“Thank you for your support and continued support as we navigate the rough waters,” she wrote.
The fundraiser page, which had garnered more than $13,000 as of Friday, said Gramkow needed to seek legal counsel.
Lindsay Clancy’s trial, which ended with a hung jury Sept. 4, grabbed national attention and set off baseless online conspiracy theories about Patrick Clancy.
At trial, Lindsay was accused of carefully planning and carrying out the killings of her and Patrick’s three kids — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — on Jan. 24, 2023.
Clancy’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington, asked a jury to find her not guilty by reason of insanity based on his claim she was in the throes of severe postpartum psychosis and heard a man’s voice commanding her to carry out the slayings and her own botched suicide attempt.
Prosecutors have said they plan to bring her to trial again, and she is next due in court Monday as both sides continue to battle over whether that will happen.
Patrick divorced Lindsay after her arrest and has since remarried to Rachel Danis, who is pregnant with his child.
The Post could not find a working number for Gramkow. It was not known who might be representing her.
