Cosmetics exec’s ex-wife says her own team botched divorce, letting him hide $15M
Furious that her celebrity makeup mogul ex allegedly got away with hiding $15 million in a $150 million divorce battle, a jilted wife is demanding her own legal and forensic teams pay her more than $5.5 million for dropping the ball.
Yosi Cohen, 63, of Manhattan, the director and co-founder of the celebrity-favorite makeup brand Natasha Denona, filed for divorce against his wife Adi, 56, in Manhattan Supreme Court in 2019, according to court records. The divorce proceedings are ongoing.
The high-end cosmetics brand, founded in 2016, has been worn by stars including Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa and Oprah Winfrey. Its namesake makeup artist, Natasha Denona, has worked with A-listers such as Gal Gadot and Bar Refaeli.
The divorce records are sealed, but in a separate lawsuit filed Oct. 25 in Manhattan Supreme Court, Adi accused her former divorce attorney, Daniel H. Stock, and forensic accounting firm KLG Business Valuators and Forensic Accountants of mishandling the case and undermining her efforts to uncover $15 million in real estate deals and secret bank accounts she claims her husband hid.
Yosi’s allegedly shady behavior included transferring money to a “post-commencement real estate entity” while falsely claiming it was acquired after the divorce proceeded, Adi claims in the lawsuit.
He also allegedly routed money through a web of companies, including Natasha Denona, which allegedly dropped $2 million into a real estate investment on Yosi’s behalf, according to the lawsuit.
Adi blames Stock and KLG for missing critical deadlines, overbilling her and ultimately ruining her chances of recovering the money Yosi allegedly hid from the marital estate.
“[Adi] was deprived of the means to develop the facts concerning the array of marital assets in this high-stakes divorce,” the complaint reads.
“[Her] husband had a documented history of falsifying records in the matrimonial action.”
Stock, who specializes in high-net-worth divorces, and KLG were hired to trace the allegedly hidden money, but Adi claims they failed to deliver.
She claimed Stock left several subpoenas with critical evidence about her husband’s alleged financial dishonesty unopened and that he missed a deadline in October 2023 to keep the “financial discovery” period open.
Since they missed the deadline, Adi claims she has no way of being able to fight for her share of the money he allegedly tried to hide.
“[Stock and KLG] engaged in self-dealing by billing [Adi] hundreds of thousands of dollars within five months, without producing any discernible results, or beneficial results for [her],” the complaint reads.
Adi is demanding more than $5.5 million in damages from Stock and KLG.
An attorney for Yosi, Stock, KLG and Natasha Denona did not return requests for comment.
Adi’s lawyer, Karen Winner, declined to comment because the divorce case is ongoing.
