A statement will be made in Seattle tonight.

At 8:15 p.m. ET, Sam Darnold’s defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks host Caleb Williams’ Chicago Bears in a huge Week 8 Monday Night Football game at Lumen Field.

Both elite clubs are currently in the middle of the pack of their respective divisions but a win for either team would be a major vote of midseason confidence and boost their playoff chances.

Prior to kickoff, Chicago is 5-2 after rattling off two consecutive victories against the Falcons and Patriots. In their last contest, a 30-24 win over New England, Williams completed 22 of 33 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns while D’Andre Swift’s 22 carries went for 78 yards and a score.

The team — who just acquired star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons — is now 3-0 in games that “the Iceman” starts and finishes.

Meanwhile, Seattle — they just traded for Quenton Nelson — sits at 4-3 after coming out on top 20-3 over the Chiefs in the Week 7 “Kenneth Walker III Bowl.” Darnold, Emanuel Wilson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba led the way.

Tonight, oddsmakers give the Seahawks a three-point edge.

“While the move for Simmons may help the Bears in the long run, I think Seattle’s strong primetime performance a week ago against Kansas City carries into Monday night,” The Post noted.

Regardless, expect a fierce battle in the Emerald City.
