‘Frustrated’ Derrick Henry reveals thoughts on possible trade with Ravens scuffling
For teams not wanting to pay a king’s ransom for Jonathan Taylor, perhaps they can instead just focus on adding a king.
Veteran Derrick Henry’s name is appearing in trade rumors with Baltimore sitting at 4-5 and facing a potential season-ending thumb injury for star QB Lamar Jackson.
Henry, 32, said after the 33-10 home loss to the Jaguars on “Thursday Night Football” that he views his future with Baltimore.
“I have not mentioned me going anywhere else,” Henry said, per ESPN. “I’m saying, ‘Let’s go back to work. Let’s try to get better and turn this thing around.’”
The 27-year-old Taylor is considered the top player available at this NFL trade deadline, but Henry could be a cheaper — albeit older — option for contenders.
The Colts reportedly want a Christian McCaffrey-type package for their homegrown star, a reference to the four-pick haul the Panthers landed from the Panthers in 2022.
Taylor is under contract through the 2028 season.
Henry — known as “King Henry” — would likely not command such a deal since he’s five years older and only under contract through the 2027 season.
The Ravens are a franchise that is always competing, but with Jackson potentially sidelined the rest of the year it could force the team to consider a different approach.
“Wasn’t good enough, we gotta be better. Same story…” Henry said. “I mean we lost four times, it’s frustrating. So, gotta be better, watch the film, gotta be better from it.”

Baltimore is acquiring Arizona quarterback Jacoby Brissett to be its starter, but that likely is not a game-changing move since the Cardinals had just benched him.
He does represent a big upgrade, though, over the undrafted Joe Fagnano, who had a woeful performance in his first career start Thursday.
The Giants — as reported by The Post — are in the market for a running back, and the Packers, Vikings, Broncos and Seahawks are among the teams also listed as searching for upgrades.
Big Blue certainly has a tie to Henry considering John Harbaugh coached him for two seasons in Baltimore being being fired.
