Troubled ex-NYPD cop, former Marine accused in NYC jogger Katie Suarez’s fatal stabbing appears emotionless in resurfaced photos

Sayed Mohassib – the ex-cop and current elementary school educator arrested in the slaying of a young jogger on a Brooklyn footpath – appeared straight-faced and unemotional in pictures taken years before the shocking killing that The Post has obtained.

Mohassib stared down the camera in his 2022 NYPD headshot, taken for the brief one-month stint he spent on the force before leaving for the Marines — who ultimately deemed him psychologically unfit for service, according to police sources.

In another photograph, Mohassib was pictured standing tall in his Brooklyn College basketball uniform.

Mohassib played on the university’s basketball team during his freshman year, logging a total of nineteen minutes on the court over three games in the 2018-2019 season.

He scored a total of 10 points, snagged five rebounds, had one assist, and three turnovers in those minutes, according to the Brooklyn College Athletics Department.

Mohassib was charged Saturday with second-degree murder for allegedly knifing Katie Suarez, 27, while she ran along the Shore Parkway Greenway last month.

News of the Bensonhurst man’s arrest stunned his neighbors, with one woman saying she was “shocked” that the “good boy” could have carried out such a horrific crime.

Mohassib allegedly told police he has no memory of the attack, but woke up from a blackout covered in blood and with the murder weapon in his possession, police sources said.
