Blue Ivy takes a style cue from mom Beyoncé with one of her most iconic hairstyles

Blue Ivy Carter looked exactly like mom Beyoncé as she stood by Jay-Z’s side in New York City on Thursday.
Arriving at her dad’s “Reasonable Doubt Jay-Z30” pop up event in the city that never sleeps as the performer’s date for the evening, Blue kept it casual when it came to her sartorial choices.
Wearing a Fear of God Jay-Z hoodie with light-wash Jaded London jeans, the 14-year-old pulled her hair back in a high ponytail braid that’s reminiscent of one of Beyoncé’s most iconic looks.
The long braid boasted an ombré tone, turning from dark brunette to platinum blonde by the time it reached her waist.
Blue accessorized with a few stacked rings and wore her thick-frame eyeglasses.
Beyoncé has been known to rock the powerful hairstyle on many an occasion — from the red carpet to the stage — and even famously whipped it around almost like a prop and part of her choreography during her performances.
Fans immediately clocked the resemblance, with one tweeting, “she got it from her mama! Blue ivy and Beyoncé going braid for braid” and another replying, “twinsies.”
Jay-Z, meanwhile, kept it equally low-key in a white tee and jeans for the occasion, which celebrates his 30 years in the industry.
His hair, now free of dreadlocks, come after Beyoncé posted about his styles on Father’s Day with a documentary-style video. The mom of three revealed that Blue actually inspired her dad to go natural.
“Our daughter was about five, and she wasn’t feeling very confident about her hair at that time,” said Beyoncé in voiceover, adding, “It inspired Jay to grow out his hair.”
She continued, “We really wanted her to love and embrace every inch of her gorgeous curls.”
