So he’s gone: Jason Arday, Cambridge University’s scandal-ridden professor, has resigned.

The “rock-star academic” famous for his long hair and tall tales has fallen on his sword following media exposés of his plagiarized Ph.D. dissertation and his fabulist claims of racial oppression.

Yet while the disgraced dreadlocked prof might be shuffling off into ignominy, this disaster is far from over.

We need to ask why so many prestigious institutions — not only Cambridge but the entirety of English academia — fell for this man’s grift.

The real story here is less Arday’s BS than the fact that so many ostensibly clever people were sucked in by it — the inevitable consequence of the intellectual class’ craven cave to the cult of BLM.

Arday was what came of the Western elites’ sacrifice of excellence at the altar of white guilt.

And it will take more than his resignation to undo the society-wrecking legacy of the BLM derangement.

The Arday scandal really is mad. 

It started with newspaper reports that he had plagiarized around 100 passages in his Ph.D. dissertation.

Then questions were asked — finally — about some of the wacky claims he’s made in recent years. 

He once said he had run 600 miles in six days, which would rank him among humanity’s most gifted endurance runners.

He claims to have overcome non-verbal autism and a brain tumor before soaring to the dizzying heights of a Cambridge professorship.

He yapped about suffering insane levels of persecution, from being confronted by a racist nutter with a knife to intercepting a pig’s head addressed to his parents’ home.

Of course not one sliver of evidence was found for these self-pitying yarns.

Even now he’s carrying on with the victim shtick, bleating in his resignation letter about being the target of an “unrelenting” crusade of vilification.

Give it up, pal. The race card no longer trumps the truth.

However will Cambridge cope without Arday’s academic insights, which included claiming that Britpop was racist and that Paul Simon is guilty of the sin of “cultural appropriation”?

That really was the kind of critical-race drivel he spouted.

Yet somehow it was enough to propel him to academic fame.

Why did so many big brains and media influencers gush over this bloke with an iffy origin story and nothing of substance to say?

It’s because they’re all under the spell of BLM.

The nasty new racialism that depicts whites as privileged and blacks as victims colonized Britain’s chattering classes just as much as it did America’s.

The madness of self-hatred descended like a plague on our island nation.

Shortly after the death of George Floyd, the Church of England called on “white Christians” to “repent of our prejudices.” 

Museums frantically hid their “problematic artifacts” — per the BBC, any object that was “stolen, looted or removed by the British from [its] place of origin.”

Universities fell to the demented cult of “decolonization,” which involved removing Dead White European Males from the syllabus and inserting obscure Afro-nationalist authors instead.

Cambridge itself hit the headlines just a month after Floyd’s death when Dr. Priyamvada Gopal, one of its most celebrated academics, tweeted “Abolish whiteness.”

Reader, don’t send your kids to Cambridge.

The post-Floyd racial hysteria had a direct and dire impact on educational standards.

The Times of London found that in the five years from 2020 to 2025, 16% of black students accepted into Oxford University had failed to achieve the necessary grades, compared with only 6% of white kids.

Numerous universities were found to have offered “reduced entry requirements” to non-white students.

Even the government has thrown academic rigor on the bonfire of white self-loathing: A bombshell piece in the Spectator this year reported that the Treasury has removed the numerical reasoning test from its screening process because non-white applicants were more likely to fail it.

Take that in. The Treasury — which oversees our entire economy — dispensed with basic math in the name of diversity.

As the Spectator put it, we witnessed the “mental breakdown of the British state” following “the death of George Floyd.”

It was a moral one too.

The BLM psychosis was a war on the West — on our history, our culture, our standards — dressed up as “anti-racism.”

And Arday was simply a beneficiary of that bizarre moment.

Our societies instituted self-loathing among white youths while lowering the educational bar for black youths — meaning both were sold down the river.

So farewell, Professor Arday.

Now let’s fix the unholy mess that self-hating liberals have left us.
