Jalen Brunson, NBA champion Knicks and Ben Stiller take in star-studded US Open semifinal
The champions are still really enjoying life in New York this summer.
Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart were in attendance at the U.S. Open on Friday as part of another star-studded crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium for Ben Shelton’s semifinal win over fellow American Frances Tiafoe.
Brunson attended with his wife, Ali, and was sitting next to one of the Knicks’ most recognizable celebrity fans, Ben Stiller.
Stiller’s wife, actress Christine Taylor, was also seated with her husband and the Brunsons.
Hart appeared at the U.S. Open this past Wednesday and was asked about the Knicks’ chances of defending their title this season.
“I don’t think we have a big target because I don’t think anyone is picking us to win again,” Hart said. “We’re using it as fuel. We’re still the hunters. We’re not satisfied with one.”
The Knicks finally ended their 53-year championship drought in June, defeating the Spurs in five games to win their first NBA title since 1973.
Brunson, Bridges and Hart have hardly disappeared from the New York scene since, making various appearances as the team readies to defend its title in the 2026-27 campaign, which will begin next month.
Stiller has been one of the team’s most visible celebrity supporters for years and was unsurprisingly a regular at Madison Square Garden throughout the Knicks’ championship run.

Celebrities who have been in attendance at the Open include Michelle Obama, Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, 2 Chainz, Trinity Rodman (who was on hand to support Shelton’s win) and Ciara, among many others.
