The series has a Certified Fresh 90% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and according to a Paramount+ press release, “Dutton Ranch cemented itself as a smash-hit by amassing 12.9 million viewers globally in the 7 days following its premiere — marking the biggest Original Series launch in Paramount+ history. The series also delivered 2.9 million total viewers during its two-episode debut on Paramount Network on May 15, making it the biggest series premiere on cable since 2023. With 1.85 million viewers for the premiere telecast alone, Dutton Ranch also ranked as the #1 cable entertainment telecast among both adults 18-49 and total viewers.”

There’s no official Dutton Ranch Season 2 premiere date on the books yet, but The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that production is expected to begin early next year.

“We’re slated to start early 2027 to film,” Reilly told THR in July. “But the room starts up pretty quick. I think we’re going to be very much involved in the room, so the next sort of six months is all about writing it.”

Is Cole Hauser Leaving Dutton Ranch? Who Is Dutton Ranch‘s New Showrunner?

These are still popular questions from Dutton Ranch fans — especially after recent feud escalation rumors between Hauser and Sheridan — and though the two have a long history, as far as we know, Rip isn’t leaving Dutton Ranch, nor is Cole Hauser! The Yellowstone spin-off was specifically written to continue Beth, Rip, and Carter’s stories — plus, Hauser is an EP on the series. So we don’t expect to say goodbye to Beth’s partner in crime any time soon.

When Dutton Ranch returns, however, it will have a new showrunner in Benjamin Cavell, who joined the team ahead of Season 2. Season 1 showrunner Chad Feehan departed from the series just three weeks before its premiere.

Grimes confirmed that we won’t see Beth and Rip on Marshals when the show returns for Season 2 this fall. That said, with Dutton Ranch expected to film Season 2 in 2027, there’s still hope that Kayce could appear on Marshals‘ sister series — especially after Grimes’ recent comments about a Dutton sibling reunion.

“It’s not out of the question that we might have some sort of crossover at some point. Beth’s basically Kayce’s only living family member other than Tate. It would make sense that down the line we’d at least talk,” Grimes told TV Insider. “[Kelly and I have] texted about it back and forth a lot, talked about how it’d be fun and necessary for our story arcs, however they’re going to end.”
